The new deadline is&nbsp;<strong>Monday 25<\/strong><sup><strong>th<\/strong><\/sup><strong>&nbsp;May 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year&#8217;s theme is\u00a0<strong>Media and Sustainability<\/strong> and invites postgraduate researchers to explore how media industries, forms, cultures, and research practices endure, adapt,\u00a0resist\u00a0or reimagine themselves within unstable or emerging environments. We also encourage\u00a0reflection on the sustainability of academic and creative labour, and the infrastructures that\u00a0support media work. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants are encouraged to interpret the conference theme broadly and creatively. Submissions from interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary perspectives are warmly welcomed, including practice-based work. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Possible areas&nbsp;of interest include, but are not limited to: &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sustainable media industries:<\/strong>\u00a0policy, production cultures, funding, and independent practice.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sustainable creative and research methodologies<\/strong>: slow scholarship, decolonial and feminist methods, ethics of care,\u00a0collaboration\u00a0and community partnership.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Environmental sustainability and media:<\/strong>\u00a0climate communication,\u00a0ecocinema, eco-media, green production, and environmental representation. \u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sustainable archives and preservation:<\/strong>\u00a0memory, heritage, obsolescence, and care for audiovisual materials. \u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sustainable digital technologies and\u00a0infrastructures:<\/strong>\u00a0platforms, AI, media infrastructure, resource extraction, and the environmental costs of data. \u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sustainable identities and communities:<\/strong>\u00a0queer, Indigenous, diasporic, and disabled media-making.
