DRI Reproductive Justice Hackathon [Mar 7 @ 12:30, in person, Dublin]

DRI Reproductive Justice Hackathon [Mar 7 @ 12:30, in person, Dublin]

3rd March 2026 by Joan Murphy

DRI Reproductive Justice Hackathon

When: March 7th from 12:30-16:00

Where: Dublin City Library and Archive

Join the Digital Repository of Ireland for a collective day of action to expand access to, and knowledge of, the history of reproductive justice efforts in Ireland through updates to the Reproductive Justice topic area on Wikipedia.

This is a half day, in-person event to take place at Dublin City Library and Archive on Saturday, March 7th. Participants should have access to a laptop or connected device on which they are comfortable editing text. We anticipate the following outcomes:

  • Attendees will be presented with a lunchtime talk on reproductive justice by Dr. Alessandra Jungs de Almeida, Research Affiliate at MIT’s Data + Feminism Lab.
  • Participants will receive hands-on-training in editing and developing Wikipedia entries from Wikimedia Ireland.
  • Small groups will collectively develop topics, compile appropriate references and links, and develop a series of topical entries for Ireland.
  • New content on reproductive justice in Ireland will be added to Wikipedia.

More details and a registration link are available at: https://dri.ie/events/reproductive-justice-hackathon/.

Why this event?

  • This is the first of what will hopefully be a series of events promoting Data Reuse that DRI aims to support via a new initiative called “DRI Labs”. You’ll have to attend the event if you want a teaser of what we hope to accomplish— and learn how to partner with us for future activities!
